Job Description

Payroll Team LeaderSalary: £32,000 - £37,000 DOE (Hybrid Working, Study Support, Free Parking, Staff Discounts)Location: WiganDuration: PermanentSellick Partnership has been assigned to recruit a Payroll Team Leader for a highly successful and established business. The Business is a market leader in their industry and is looking to expand their Payroll team.The client is looking for a highly driven and enthusiastic individual who has previous experience working on the full Payroll process. The Payroll Team Leader is perfect for someone who is seeking to work in a fast-paced working environment, whilst lookingto build relationships with colleagues and customers.Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Team Leader will play a key role in ensuring that all employees in the designated business units are paid correctly and on time. Also, you will be responsible for processing key business reports.This role is perfect for someone who has already strong experience in Payroll and is looking for a step up into a more senior position.General responsibilities as a Payroll Team Leader include: -

  • End to end processing of payroll activities
  • Processing of all new starters, leavers, change of T&Cs, processing and recording of curt orders and P45s
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting for key stakeholders both weekly and monthly
  • Working closely with the Payroll Manager in the development of any colleague benefits
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with the processing of P11Ds and P60s to ensure they are issued accurately and efficiently
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting and submissions to the HMRC
  • Calculating and processing of all payments and adjustments in relation to absence, sick pay and other statutory payments.
The Suitable Payroll Team Leader will have the following: -
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced team
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • A clear communicator and team player, who is willing to pass their knowledge onto more junior members of the team
  • Exposure to HMRC, P11D and PAYE settlement agreements
  • A pro-active individual who is constantly striving for better processes and change
