Job Description

Job Title: Operations ManagerSalary: Varies on ExperienceLocation: WiganHancoxRead Recruitment are looking to hire an experienced Operations Manager to lead and grow our clients business on one of its key accounts. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a key strategic customer, and an established and talented contractteam.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ultimate responsibility for the overall Health, Safety and Well-being of all colleagues working on the account as well as responsibility for the professional and personal development of colleagues working on the contract, and ownership of recruitment andpeople retention.
  • Lead a team across warehousing & repack to ensure allocations of work to all employees, to achieve customer satisfaction and reduce duplication, which will increase the ability and agility to service the customer.
  • Identify new ways to grow the customers supply chain in order to prevent status quo and establish engagement plans with key customer stakeholders in order to enhance relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Ensure all training and development activity is undertaken for all operational staff so they have the right training to do their jobs effectively. Develop and maintain a training skills matrix for the operational teams
  • Maintain optimal levels of operational efficiency and resources at all times, ensuring that operation procedures and processes meet quality requirement and drive performance improvements through auditing processes and robust reporting mechanisms.
Skills & Abilities
  • Experience in leading all aspects of a multi-site, customer led operations and proven track record in delivering innovative performance improvements and operational excellence. Knowledge of the complete life cycle of a contract
  • Strong experience of manufacturing logistics / supply chain with varying levels of complexity.
  • Knowledge of support services / contracts business model (including 3PL) highly desirable.
  • Experience of new business tenders and managing start-ups and business transfers is ideal
  • Excellent commercial acumen - understands dynamics of open/ closed book contracts & develops a profit centre approach & culture amongst the Account team that is focused on bottom line performance.
