Job Description

My client, a highly recognisable manufacturing business with sites across the UK, is currently looking to recruit a NPD Process Technologist to help support the team. You will be working from Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week. You will be part of a teamproducing and packing baking products in an effective and efficient manner.If selected, you will:The role is to develop, deliver new products technologies that will enable the business to meet its key customer requirements and to support targeted growth.

  • Internal, NPD, Process improvements
  • Direct support for NPD Manager (including deputising when required)
  • Reactive (bespoke) NPD for key industrial customers
  • Proactive NPD, that fits with key market trends and supports business growth.
  • New products that can be produced on existing production equipment
  • New ingredients and technologies
  • Production trials to support NPD launches
  • Process improvements that can improve efficiency and/or provide cost savings
  • Direct contact with key industrial and other defined target accounts
  • NPD administration that includes, recipe, process flow, trial reports and specification (creation and sign off) and ensuring that NPD pathway documentation is kept up to date
  • Updating Critical paths on projects
  • Clear and timely communication with both NPD colleagues and other, internal departments.
The Ideal candidate brings the following
  • Bakery/Food - Minimum Batchelors Degree in either Food or Bakery Technology
  • Specific knowledge of functional/technical ingredients and how to optimise their use in food
  • Proven experience of working in a NPD environment and ideally be educated to degree
  • Working with both developmental and production environments (hands on)
  • Nutrition and labelling
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a food production and development environment with a good working knowledge of food safety, Quality and H&S Standards
  • High attention to detail
  • Key member of NPD team responsible for successful product launches
  • Business to Business experience not essential, but would be considered an advantage
  • PC literate
