The Mechanical Fitter Supervisor will be part of the installation team based at Wigan, working mainly throughout the UK and also Europe when required. This is a long-term opportunity working on a wide variety of sites within the construction, heavy engineeringand blue-chip manufacturing market sectors.This role requires mechanical disconnecting, match marking and reconnecting of a wide range of machines, machine tools, conveyors and structures, ensuring health and safety is always adhered to and that issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner.Key Responsibilities- Installation and removal of mechanical equipment, ideally with experience of lifting and handling machinery- Working closely as per risk assessments, method statements and current legislation, ensuring all company and client rules are adhered too- Actively engage with management in the planning, organising and delivery of work- Assist the Operations team with day to day operations on site- Identify site issues, find a resolution and report back to the Operations teamKey measures & targets- Deliver projects to industry standards, customers expectations, on time and within budgetKey relationships- Customer Personnel- Operations Team- Contract/Project Managers- On-Site teams- QESH ManagementThe successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:Essential- Significant experience within a mechanical fitting, machine lifting and handling environment- Must be able to confidently and competently mechanically disconnect, match mark and reconnect a wide range of machines, machine tools, conveyors and structures- Must be confident in reading and interpreting drawings- CSCS card for Mechanical Fitter or trade papers to allow registration- Excellent communication skills- Self-motivated team member- Enthusiastic and ambitious personality- Clean driving licence- Competent in the use of machine levels, optical levels, theodolite, dial gauges etc. and marking out from datum points, line and levelling equipment in accordance with normal engineering standardsDesirable- Pipefitting/welding experience- SSSTS qualification- Manual Handling- First Aid training- IPAF, Forklift Truck, Lift Supervisor, Slinger, Compact Crane training all advantageous, training can be arranged for the right candidateHours of WorkContracted to 39 hours per week Monday to Friday however overtime is standard including weekends and away from home working. The candidate must have the ability and willingness to carry out regular extended hours.TransportationA tackle van will be provided together with full PPE, a competitive rate, enhanced overtime rates and guaranteed working arrangements.
