Job Description

The role will be a key part in the leadership of the technical agenda working closely with the Engineering Manager. You will lead the Planned and Corrective maintenance activities, support the development and implementation of training plans for both reactiveand days-based engineering teams.Client DetailsSaica Group has a presence across the UK, Europe and the United States. With a fantastic reputation of developing high performance packaging solutions, SaicaPack produces sustainable solutions from recycled materials, reducing their overallemissions by 30% per unit.DescriptionThe Maintenance Manager will work at the Wigan site to:

  • Support the development and implementation of the sites Maintenance strategy moving towards an increasing Planned and Preventative Maintenance process and away from Reactive Breakdowns.
  • Lead others in the implementation of Maximo and will be the key point of contact from a training/development perspective for the engineering team in its operation and backlog management.
  • Reliability-focused and adopting/using modern techniques such as TPM, RCA, RCM and FMEA at the most appropriate stage in the Maintenance Strategy development.
  • Support the continuous improvement culture and failure analysis agenda for the site by driving engineers to analyse Breakdown and loss data and implement action plans to permanently solve problems by addressing the root cause.
  • Drive live plant issues through the systems and through the team.
  • Effective Weekly and monthly planned maintenance planning based on compliance with the existing schedule and also management of the preventative work order backlog to ensure 100% compliance is achieved and risks removed.
  • Evolution / development of condition based maintenance, level 1 (operator maintenance), level 2 (engineering), calibration and routine work activities.
  • Cost out planning including critical stock analysis and stock level management.
  • Review Engineering KPI Performance on a weekly and monthly basis and develop and drive the execution of A3 availability and MTBF strategic improvement plans based on data analysis.
  • Control of planned maintenance outages and events.
  • Adheres to and understands the Saica Maintenance System (SMS) and actively works to improve the evolution score.
  • Supervision of 8 planned maintenance engineers day to day and supports the reactive team in live issues.
ProfileThe successful Maintenance Manager will be:
  • Mechanical/Electrical background.
  • Previous experience of developed maintenance systems.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • ONC/HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Time-served Engineer with a Strong Technical background. This role is not a hands-on role and the Maintenance Manager can hold detailed technical conversations or provide support when needed but not necessarily performing detailed engineering tasks.
  • Possess or willing to develop management and leadership qualities to direct and support the team to a better standard of performance and create a reputation acknowledged by others as World-Class.
  • Strong understanding of H&S in a manufacturing environment.
  • Awareness and on-going development of modern maintenance techniques.
