Job Description

IT Field Engineer - Wigan - £30,000 (Field based)Are you passionate about IT and delivering exceptional customer service Join our client, a top-tier IT Managed Services Provider, as an experienced IT Field Engineer. This exciting opportunity offers a blend of office and site-based, where you will be responsiblefor overseeing and maintaining our clients IT systems. To succeed in this position, a minimum of 2 years experience and expertise in some of the following areas/technologies is required.Position Overview:As an IT Field Engineer, you will be responsible for installing new equipment and efficiently resolving site issues. This role offers a perfect balance of field and office-based work, providing an engaging and dynamic environment.Required Skills:

  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in desktop support, both Windows and Mac environments.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 setup and administration.
  • Knowledge of server-based technologies, including installation, configuration, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory and group policies.
  • Experience in network setup, including installation and configuration of network switches.
  • Competence in firewall configuration.
  • Understanding of switch configuration, including VLANs, IP routing, and related concepts.
  • Previous experience in VOIP implementation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wireless networks.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, strong customer service orientation, and clear telephone communication skills.
  • Possession of a full clean UK driving license.
  • Previous experience in data cabling would be advantageous.
