Job Description

LT25 - Installation Team LeaderLocation: Wigan (All Surrounding Areas)Salary: £18 to £19 per hourOverview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Installation Team Leader on behalf of one of our clients.To lead site installation teams in the installation and commissioning of microwave equipment and associated ancillaries. To manage the safety and quality of site activity in accordance with company policies. All activity is completed as directed by the Fieldservices manager.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. Duties and Responsibilities of an Installation Team Leader:

  • Work as commissioner / installer to support field installation activities.
  • H&S and quality lead for all site based activity.
  • Perform site surveys and audits as instructed.
  • Complete hand over documentation.
  • Complete site survey documentation.
  • Provide leadership and share knowledge with installers 3rd parties.
  • Assist operations with specific tasks as instructed to support new projects.
  • Liaise on site with 3rd party contractors during project installation.
  • Proactively resolve onsite issues during project installation.
  • Provide support to the project managers on the survey, installation and handover of link installs as directed by the Field Services Manager.
  • Site Engineering Surveys for new installations and upgrades.
  • Liaise with services and technical teams during testing, commissioning & fault rectification activities.
  • Collation of test and link information as well as site location prior to deployment.
  • Carry out testing & commissioning of the specific radio links. This will include specific testing procedures and documentation as per customer requirements and procedures.
  • Liaise with technical team to ensure an in depth knowledge of hardware.
  • Attend training courses delivered by the technical team for continuation of skills.
  • Provide assistance in the event of the warehouse administrator not being available.
  • Receive and check good inwards.
  • Prepare dispatches to paperwork for goods outwards.
  • Operate fork lift truck (only if trained and certified).
  • LOLER & PUWER inspection and documentation.
  • On site quality audits, supervised by the Health & Safety Manager.
  • Responsible for 3rd party contractors on site to ensure they are in compliance with company and customer health & safety policies.
  • Completion of site specific and daily RAMS.
  • Ensure implementation of control measures on site.
  • Responsible for all internal operatives on site.
  • Induct site visitors and ensure compliance with RAMS at all times.
  • Responsible for own personal compliance with company and customer health & safety policies.
  • Ensure that products, plant, equipment, vehicles and buildings are not damaged.
  • Report to their line manager any near miss, hazard, accident, damage or defect in order that remedial action may be undertaken.
  • Undergo any training or instruction to enable them to work competently and safely.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • MS Office, including Excel, Word.
  • Excellent Communication skills.
  • A good standard of written and oral English.
  • Broad knowledge of radio principles.
  • In depth knowledge of microwave principles.
  • Technical radio engineering experience.
  • Working at height (medically able and certified).
  • Trained in creation and implementation of RAMS and control measures.
  • PPE inspection certified (desirable).
  • LOLER / PUWER certified (desirable).
  • Asbestos awareness trained.
  • Advanced tower climber certification.
  • Tower rescue certified.
  • First aid at height certified.
  • RF Awareness certified.
  • Lifting and rigging certification including use of capstan winch.
  • Can be available to stay away from home / for weekend work as required.
