Job Description

Higher Level Teaching AssistantA popular Church of England school have an opening for an experienced staff member to join their school and support identified students for the remainder of the year.The school wish to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis that is able to join their support faculty at the earliest convenience. The incoming member of staff will be employed for the remainder of the academic year with a view to securing a permanent contract ahead of the next academic year in September.

  • Large Church of England school based between Wigan and Warrington, accessible via the A580 (East Lancashire Road).
    • The school are currently looking to offer specialised support to identified pupils who have been regularly emitted to the schools inclusion centre. Most of the pupils who the Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be supporting have individual EHCPs and needs such as ASC and ADHD.This role will require the incoming member of staff to support and engage pupils throughout school, many of whom have significant barriers to learning. Previous experience of working in an education setting with pupils in a supporting role is essential, as well as having the skills to diffuse stressful situations and build good relationships with the students.Our client secondary school has a high proportion of disadvantaged pupils who are eligible for support through pupil premium. Located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre this school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Golborne and Tyldesley via the M6 motorway.
