Job Description

Design and TechnologyWiganProspero Teaching is looking for a confident, assertive, and approachable D&T teacher to cover a sickness absence in a secondary school in Wigan. Most of the timetable for this role will be to cover key stage 4 levels, all abilities, and subjects. The focusof the curriculum is Interacting with the modern world where students are helped to develop creative and problem solving skills and gain experience of working in the key areas of Food, Resistant Materials, and Graphical Products.Design and Technology is a popular non-core subject thanks to a friendly yet professional learning environment made possible by the hard work of both staff and students. The position is open to experienced staff members who have experience working in a D&Trole, within schools.CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Wigan
  • Position - Design and Technology
  • Type of work - Covering classes in absence of a Class Teacher
  • Start date - NOW
  • End date (if applicable) - 11th November 2022
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Full time/part time - Part time
  • Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day
  • Hours - 8:15 am - 4pm
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recent Graduate, with a 2:1 or higher
  • PGCE in desired role
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Previous experience working in a leadership role
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
  • Up to date Prevent training issued in the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references covering the last 2 years
