Job Description

Classroom BuddyDo you have experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)Are you wanting to help shape the lives of children with learning difficulties but don’t feel you have the relevant qualificationsStart your career and change lives by working with Special Education – apply now!Milk Education are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Classroom Buddy to work on aone to one basis with a Year 6 Childin a mainstream primary school based inPemberton (WN5). The classroom buddy role is full-time and will require working Monday to Friday, with the working hours from 08:30am-15:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break. The role is to startas soon as possibleand will continueuntil Thursday 28th March 2024initially.The successful candidate must have experience of working with children who have additional needs. Whilst working as a Classroom Buddy you will be expected to undertake all activities as required during their time at the school and be able to work as partof a team as well as being able to use initiative.If successful, you will work under the guidance of the teaching staff to support access to learning. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the normal teaching area.What you need to apply:

  • Previous experience working with children, or young adults, with ASD and complex needs (Voluntary experience welcome)
  • Confidence dealing with pupils with different abilities and SEND requirements
  • Good interpersonal and communicational skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
  • Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children

  • Sports Coaching
  • Care Worker
  • Army Cadets
  • Psychology graduate
  • Tutoring children with SEN
  • Youth Worker
  • Any previous experience with special educational needs
