Job Description

Transport Operations Manager Widnes£32,000 - £36,000 (Depending on experience) Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join a family run business who specialise within the waste management, collection and disposal sector.As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the current transport operations. Your contribution will be key to the seamless delivery and execution of the daily transport plan.The Candidate;

  • CPC Management – Desirable
  • Recycling or waste management logistics experience (desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of driver time regulations
  • Previous experience within a operational and transport supervisory role
  • A good understanding of fleet compliance across Rigids and Artics
  • Experience using Transport Management System
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Competent decision making
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leading and managing a Transport Planning team
  • Supervising and managing driver workloads
  • Ensure drivers have the correct paperwork and equipment to carry out their role
  • Liaise with drivers, supervising and managing driver workloads

  • Coordination of breakdown, recovery
  • Ensure all aspects of H&S are adhered to
  • All defects are dealt with correctly
  • Investigate any vehicle damage and take any action required
  • Ensure all vehicles are in a clean and tidy condition through regular audits
