Job Description

CK Group are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join a cleaning chemicals manufacturing company in their quality control department, at their site based in Widnes on a full time, permanent basis.The Company:Our client manufactures and supplies chemical to a wide range of industry sectors. They now have a requirement for an experienced technician to join their team. Reporting to the Technical Laboratory Manager, the QC Laboratory Assistant will carry out individualtests aimed at verifying the performance, functional characteristics of raw materials and products, with special attention and analysis capabilities in order to bring a constructive and active contribution to the development of products. They offer a salaryof £21-22,000pa depending on experience, as well as a health care scheme, pension and 20 days holiday + bank holidays, which accrues over time. Hours are 8am-5pm.Location:The Quality Control Laboratory Technician will be based at the companys site in Widnes, easily commutable from surrounding areas including Runcorn, Warrington, Liverpool, Manchester.Your main duties will be:

  • Making sure that the test conditions are in line with the required prerequisites.
  • Performing the tests (also together with the laboratory team) according to the schedule decided by the Laboratory Manager.
  • Ensuring the correct use of the tools, in accordance with existing procedures and instructions.
  • Recording and archive data and contribute to their correct processing.
  • Issuing the test report.
Your Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
  • Scientific industrial technology degree
  • Industry experience of performing pH, viscosity, titrations - essential
  • Any knowledge of checking labels and incoming goods would be beneficial
  • Good knowledge of chemical principles
  • Ability to work methodically as a part of a team and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and planning skills including accuracy and reliability
  • Proactive and problem solving attitude
