Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Upper Key Stage 2 Teacher to join a mainstream primary school based in Widnes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and have a proven track record of raising student attainmentand engagement, especially in preparation for end-of-year testing and assessments.Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons that cater to the needs of Year 6 students;
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, and using this information to inform future planning and delivery, including making necessary adjustments to support students in their preparation for end-of-year tests and assessments.
  • Creating a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes independence, creativity, and achievement, while also focusing on students development of key skills and knowledge;
  • Collaborating with colleagues and support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning, including working together to prepare students for end-of-year tests and assessments.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers, and keeping them informed of their childs progress;
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in primary education, including staying up-to-date with developments and best practices.
Requirements:
  • A relevant teaching qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS);
  • Previous experience teaching Year 6 students and a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and national standards, including end-of-year testing and assessment;
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons, and to assess and monitor student progress effectively;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues;
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students in Year 6, including ensuring their success in end-of-year testing and assessment.
