We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join us based in Widnes. The position available is a full-time, permanent, working 42 hours per week, 4 on / 4 off shifts (days and nights). The Company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country.As our Maintenance Fitter your duties and responsibilities will include:- Maintaining and repairing a range of mechanical plant, a good knowledge of Pneumatics & Hydraulics- Good knowledge of all pump types (centrifugal, positive displacement, self-priming etc.)- Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance activities- Undertaking surveys and reports as required- Evaluating performance and ensuring the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out- Being able to carry out a reasonable standard of welding, MMA & MIG- Completing steam raising works and boiler house routine checks- Assisting in meeting all legislative requirements in respect of environment and health and safety, including maintaining accurate records- Covering in the plant for sickness/holidays- Any other ad hoc duties as requiredAs a Maintenance Fitter you should have:- Had a time served apprenticeship or recognised Mechanical Engineering certification/qualification or equivalent- Previous engineering experience within a process/factory environment- To be able to work on own initiative and take ownership of projects within an agreed timescale- Take a proactive approach to problem-solving and produce appropriate solutions to reduce disruption to working processes- Have a calm and methodical approach to work and be able to work under pressure within time constraints- Manage a number of projects effectively and troubleshoot as and when required- Must be a team worker and help the team to be developed and maintainedClosing Date: 9th April 2021If you would like to join us as our Maintenance Fitter, then apply now.
