Forward thinking and innovative our customers sit at the heart of everything we do.The Housing Options Gateway Assistant role:As a Housing Options Gateway Assessor, you will be responsible for the boroughs most vulnerable customers ensuring the customers housing needs are met on behalf of Halton Borough Council and Halton Housing. You will assess customers medical needs in their own homes and complete the administration of Health and Welfare assessments and medical bandings accordingly within the Choice Based city region allocations scheme Property Pool Plus (PPP) and assess the needs for adaptations and determine required properties that will meet the customer’s needs.You will also assess Halton Housing customers in their homes to establish suitable adaptations required to enable tenancy sustainability working in conjunction with internal teams and underpin Halton Housings processes and Aids and Adaptations policy. You will work in collaboration with Halton Borough’s Occupational Health department and external partners.What will you be doing as ourHousing Options Gateway Assistant- Complete the administration of the Health & Welfare Assessment process including completing medical bandingassessments.- Provide advice and assistance for new vulnerable customers to help them make an informed choice about rehousing.- Provide support and information for vulnerable customers requiring adaptations, enabling them to register on Property Pool Plus (PPP) and bid for appropriate accommodation.- Carry out Health and Welfare medical Assessments and sheltered housing assessments with customers to ensure that applications can be correctly prioritised.- Complete home visit to carry out Housing Options Assessments, explain the processes within Property Pool Plus.- Provide support and a point of contact for customers throughout the designated processes relating to PPP or adaptions to the home.- Assist senior management in enquiries and appeals processes.- Complete Housing Options Assessments within customers home as per Halton Borough Council (HBC) requests.- Advise and support Halton Housing customer regarding adaptations within their home and feasibility of the adaptations.- Undertake administration tasks within internal systems.What are we looking for in our Housing Options Gateway Assistant- Comprehensive experience in assessing, assisting, and supporting vulnerable customers with medical/disabled needs in the home to ascertain appropriate adaptions and/or alternative housing solutions.- Comprehensive knowledge in the Property Pool Plus allocations scheme policy and other such policies and procedures medical bandings.- Comprehensive knowledge of Adaptations and availability of adapted properties within the borough.- The ability to make concise clear decisions and rationalise such decisions based on policies / procedures and clear judgement.- Strong abilities to work under pressure, prioritise workload and meet performance targets and deadlines.- Have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of customer service with the ability to show empathy and support to customers.- Proven track record of excellent organisation and record maintaining skills.- Comprehensive problem-solving skills with the ability to “think outside the box” to resolve problematic issues.- Can maintain effective partnerships and links with a range of internal departments.- Effective communication skills with the ability to advise customers accordingly based on policies/procedures and limitations.It’s exciting times at Halton… come and be a part of it!Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity, click ‘Apply’ now to find out more about the Housing Options Gateway Assistant position.Closing date for applications: Monday 21st September at 9am.
