Job Description

Our Client is a supplier of speciality ingredients to the UK Food and Nutrition industries.They are now seeking a Food Application Technologist. This position will be based in Widnes, Cheshire and is a full-time permanent role.Job Purpose

  • To provide food and beverage application support for business growth
  • To plan, execute and document, using the company systems, all practical application work carried out in the Food Application facility
  • To assist, where required, with the planning and delivery of customer presentations either on site or off site, including at customer own premises
  • To maintain the Food Application facility in the highest possible condition, hosting visits from customers, suppliers and colleagues
Key Responsibilities
  • Support BDMs (Business Development Managers) in developing and delivering a project pipeline that underpins and exceeds budgeted business growth
  • Day-to-day housekeeping of the Food Application facility ensuring a safe and clean working environment
  • Help to drive continuous improvement in the efficient and effective use of the Food Application facility
  • Liaise where required with colleagues in other Food Application locations to share best practice within the boundaries of customer and supplier confidentiality
  • External Interactions / Interfaces: Suppliers / Customers
  • Internal Interactions / Interfaces: Director and Business Management / Commercial Development Manager / BDMs and Account Managers ( internal, external and KAMs ) / EMEA colleagues
Qualifications and Experience
  • BSc / HND (or equivalent) in a food related subject
  • Experienced, passionate and dedicated individual with a strong application technologist track record in the Food & Beverage sector
  • It is essential that you have a depth and breadth of ingredients and application knowledge from across the food industry. This knowledge should be anchored in direct experience gained in a wide variety of food and beverage applications.
  • The ability to prioritise your own work, be a confident self-starter and manage timelines to meet deadlines is a must
  • Be comfortable using a wide range of food production equipment and working with detailed recipe protocols
