Financial ControllerMonday - Friday 37 hour weekLocation: WidnesA global leader in Photonic Printing Solutions are recruiting for an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller. Head quartered in the UK, the Company delivers revolutionary inkless printing solutions for products and packaging based on its patented laser-reactive colour change pigment technology. The Financial Controller will lead the efforts of a well-established and highly competent finance team, ensuring deadlines are met and procedures upheld. The Financial Controller will be responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, whilst providing advice to the Directors on financial plans and associated risk.The Company have ambitious growth plans for the next 5 years and plans to increase turnover via the commercialisation of their new technologies. The financial controller will play a key role in re-designing and implementing strong financial systems and processes to allow for future growth. The role would suit a self-starter, keen to shape and take ownership of the finance function and provide mentorship to the team and non-finance managers within the Company.Key Responsibilities• Prepare the monthly management accounts and management pack• Present performance results at the monthly management meetings• Support month-end process to ensure monthly management accounts are completed on time and to the required standard• Undertake financial analysis to support decision making and contribute to company strategy (e.g. make or buy decisions)• Manage the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts• Undertake monthly variance analysis and provide challenge to budget owners• Evaluate costs of selling different products in different regions, to assist with products and pricing decisions and introduce cost accounting into the Company over time• Review budgets and financial forecasts regularly to look for cost reductions• Manage cash flow and prepare scenario analysis when required for any changes that will have a significant impact on the cash flow• Prepare the year end statutory accounts and lead the production of the annual tax returns and annual audit. Work with tax adviser to prepare R&D tax credit claim• Oversee the preparation of payroll and all employee benefits administration e.g. pension scheme, healthcare scheme, DIS scheme• Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other periodic submissions required by HMRC, including the P11D, PSA and Intrastat returns• Supervise, lead and mentor team, ensuring all members of the team are motivated and supported in carrying out routine processes and upholding financial policies• Develop new or improve existing systems and processes to support the business growth plans, particularly relating to new products• Contribute to a continuous improvement environment, through developing and documenting finance processes and accounting policies• Seek expert tax and legal advice from external sources where required and implement changes where appropriate• Own and maintain relationships with third parties, including bank, invoice discounting supplier, insurers, auditors, tax advisers• Ensure that the company is kept up to date with relevant changes in legislation and implement necessary changes to procedures Required skills
Keyskills :
Fully qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA Proven track recd with substantial post qualification experience Strong management people development skills including experience Intermediate excel user must be comftable with VLOOKUPs as a mini
