Job Title: BuyerLocation: Widnes (WA8 7QT)Salary: £25,000 per annumShifts : Mon- Thurs 08:00- 17:00, Fridays 08:00- 14:30Contract Type: PermanentThe CompanyOur client, is a dynamic Engineering/Manufacturing company that is dedicated to providing quality products & innovative services to various industries, specialising in the full project management process, from initial concept and design through to the end product.They are currently seeking a Buyer who will be able to fulfill the purchasing requirements of an established engineering company.The Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of standard items such as, but not limited to: steel, lasers, fixings, motors, pulleys and sprockets etc.The successful candidate will require experience in the manufacturing industry and have a strong understanding of supply chain management concepts.As a Buyer your duties will be:" Research, select and purchase quality products and materials." Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing." Process requisitions and update management on status of orders." Prepare reports and updates as when required" Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery." Coordinate with all disciplines within the product realisation process as required." Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management. (Supplier concern management)An ideal Buyer will hold the following skills and experiences:" Strong negotiating skills." Good communication, planning and organisational skills." Strong attention to detail." Highly motivated and conscientious." Good level of computer literacy in Microsoft office packages and standard purchase order platforms are essential."
