Job Description

Saint-Gobain ISOVER creates efficient thermal and acoustical insulation solutions to design energy efficient constructions, to provide safe comfort for users and to help protect the environment.We have great opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our successful Isover team in Runcorn, Cheshire that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They produce a range of products that include rolled and slab-form insulation. Due to our continued growth we need an Engineering Manager to join the team who can demonstrate the desire, hunger and passion to succeed in this fast paced environment, where no two days are the same.As Engineering Manager you will part of the site senior leadership team, you will lead from the front and effectively manage the multi-disciplined Maintenance Department to maximise plant and equipment availability and reliability. You will deliver the business strategy at an economical cost, and have a key focus on achieving the highest standards of environmental, health and safety performance. You will strive to achieve optimum production by successfully leading your teams and planning, implementing Continuous Improvement plans whilst adhering to World Class Manufacturing standards.As well as leading the maintenance department, you will:

Ensure safety management systems are implemented, whilst driving a `safety culture across the site.

Plan, coordinate and implement engineering projects and supervise multiple teams.

Control operational performance to enable delivery of annual production targets

Set and manage plant KPIs.

Ensure World Class Manufacturing methodology is embedded and used.

Identifying and prioritizing plant losses and initiating Continuous Improvement.

Deliver and control the maintenance spend, including the review and approval of maintenance contracts and cost estimates

Implement best practice and best in class strategies

Recruit staff along with formulating their development and progression plans.

Be involved in grievance and disciplinary procedures where required.

Support the Plant WCM route map in the formation of the plant business strategy and play a key role in delivering against the strategy

What were looking for in an Engineering Manager:

Degree qualified as a Chartered Engineer or equivalent IOSH Certificate

A World Class Manufacturing practitioner (AM, PM, FI, CDM)

Commercial awareness - budgetary, engineering and maintenance spend control

Proven experience in a continues production environment

Experience in managing engineering teams within a unionised environment

Implementing and driving Continuous Improvement, in a WCM environment

Experience in Professional Maintenance would be advantageous.

A high degree of numeracy and analytical skills, using data analysis and statistics to identify plant losses and stratifying data down to root cause.
