Job Description

All About UsCurrie & Brown is currently looking for a full time Health & Safety manager for our client in Weybridge. This is a key role to help lead safety functions across the site and ensure compliance with all aspects of health and safety legislation and best practiceat Weybridge. We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager that will have autonomy and be a trusted and valued member of the team. We are looking for an experienced, collaborative and autonomous Health & Safety professional who holds passion and enthusiasmfor Health & Safety and has significant experience within the Construction Industry,The successful candidate(s) must live within commutable distance to Weybridge/Woking area. The role is primarily managing Health & safety performance on the site, supporting the client in raising the standards of Health & Safety of the incumbent contractors,achieving successful outcomes for our clients, enhancing their culture and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.All About The RoleResponsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders and operational staff to deliver safe working practises on site.
  • Drive the best-in-class H&S culture and be the catalyst for change`
  • Liaising regularly with site teams
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic and operational H&S objectives of the site
  • Responsible for ensuring that risks in the workplace are controlled and that the organisation is successfully meeting safety standards.
  • Maintaining Health & Safety performance
  • Check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the client and stakeholders
  • Develop the system and processes necessary from procurement / tendering through vetting, induction, permits, RAMS etc. to supervision, monitoring and de-brief
  • Develop the construction standards working closely with the H&S team at Defra.
  • Provide suggestions and strategy for improvement and advise on H&S initiative and run with it
  • Create KPIs for all the contractor and provide a monthly report.
  • Contractor liaison (engagement)working with everyone on site to improve standards through various interventions.
  • Providing health & safety training and presentations
  • Induction, training and competence development and delivery
All About YouRequirements:
  • NEBOSH qualifications or equivalent at degree level
  • SMSTS, various other construction-based H&S courses
  • Proven experience of managing operational and strategic health and safety.
  • A keen eye to spot and adequate knowledge to advise on Health & safety non-compliance.
  • Must understand CDM 2015 regulations and its application.
  • Experience of driving a good H&S culture developing and running H&S safety initiatives.
  • Up to date with new legislation and maintains a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments.
  • Can advise and lead on a range of specialist areas, e.g., H&S strategy to raise standards, incidents & near misses, noise, excavations, temporary works, demolition and mental health.
  • Experience of providing training.
