We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and skilled Band 7 to join as a Team Lead for the General Medical Team at Wexham Park for a 1 year Fixed Term contract.The team currently provides inpatient Physiotherapy to a variety of wards including Care of the Elderly, Frailty, Rheumatology, Endocrine and Haematology.The team also has roles in Outpatient Oncology and Outpatient Amputee service. The aim of the service is to provide an efficient and effective Physiotherapy service to inpatients in order to assist with assessment and rehabilitation of patients to enable them to return home at the earliest available opportunity whilst working in collaboration with the wider MDT.The team includes a mixture of rotational and static staff including all bands from Band 2 to Band 6. The successful candidate will have managerial and leadership experience in order to successfully step into a Team Leader Role of such a diverse and busy team.Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential in order to manage a working clinical Oncology caseload alongside the management and leadership responsibilities of a team lead role.Experience of MDT working is integral due to the close working relationships with the Consultant team, chemotherapy staff, nursing staff Occupational therapy and Palliative care. The role will be supported by a caring and supportive leadership team including fellow Band 7 team leads alongside both the Inpatient Team lead and Physiotherapy Site Lead.There are opportunities for Continuing Professional Development through in house courses as well as regular senior teaching.The role is also closely supported by Macmillan giving access to a wide range of opportunities and support resources. Wexham Park Hospital is an exciting and advancing hospital to work at, with Frimley Health being one of the top performing Trusts in the UK for Cancer Services.
