Welcome to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, where great care and great careers go hand-in-hand. We have state-of-the-art Theatre facilities at both of our acute hospitals as well as undertaking an ambitious £90 million redevelopment of our elective Heatherwood Hospital, which is due to open at the end of 2021. There has never been a more exciting time to join us!Due to our growth, we have an opportunity for a hard-working and enthusiastic professional to join the Theatre Team as a Medical Devices and Equipment Coordinator at one of our acute sites, Wexham Park Hospital, where excellence in practice is highly maintained and promoted. Within our theatre department, we cover a variety of specialities in Anaesthetics, Scrub and Recovery including Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Gynaecology and General Surgery, ENT , Obstetrics, Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics and a 24/7 CEPOD Emergency to name a few. This is an exciting opportunity to be integral to the development and ongoing success of the department. The successful applicant can expect to support the Trust’s medical devices throughout their life cycle including acceptance processes, scheduled preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, repairs, decommissioning and safe disposal of the equipment. The role will require extensive knowledge of the Microsoft packages including maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel, therefore experience of operating within these systems would be of benefit to the department to maintain its principles of continuous improvement and high standards. Training and support will be provided, if required. You will need to be skilled and self-motivated; able to make decisions independently when necessary; educated to an appropriate education level in a suitable engineering/science subject with proven experience of working unsupervised on electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment and be able to demonstrate the desire to continue your professional development through internal and external training courses. Clinical experience will also be desirable, but not a requirement. The post involves working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, often in clinical areas, therefore excellent communication skills will be required to interact effectively with medical, nursing and technical staff. With a dedicated Practice Development Team committed to personal and professional development, opportunities and support will be offered to achieve boundless potential to develop and grow as a professional.
