Our Orthopaedic Ward gives you the chance to deliver care you can be proud of! In this exciting, varied Junior Sister / Charge Nurse Role you will work closely with the Senior Sister to ensure the department is providing excellent standards of patient care and you will be committed to driving improvements for patient quality and experience. You will be actively involved in organising the patient flow in the department, whilst ensuring patient safety is at the forefront of all activities. You will be responsible for monitoring clinical levels of care and will have the opportunity to work on complex surgical cases. You will work with the Senior Sister to guide and develop junior members of staff and be involved in administrative tasks such as recruitment so you will need strong organisational and time management skills. You will liaise with different departments and specialities over the transfer and discharge of patients and you will review staffing levels to ensure there is safe staffing at all times. You will be expected to manage the ward in the absence of the Senior Sister.We welcome applications from Junior Sisters / Charges Nurses or experienced Staff Nurses looking to take the next step up in your career. You will be fully supported and developed by our practice development team, along with the Clinical Matron, to ensure you have all the skills required for the post. In addition you will have the opportunity to undertake specialist modules to further your knowledge in orthopaedics. You will be encouraged to grow your career and supported if you wish to progress into a management role, or if you wish to develop into a specialist role we have Trauma Co-ordinator, Practice Development or Nurse Advanced Practitioner roles in the department.
