Hospital Porters are needed to join what promises to be an outstanding team of key workers. Working via A Star Partners, a leading provider of recruitment services in the UK, you will join a team of Hospital Porters at this extraordinary time of need.no experience needed as full training is given for the role. Such is the importance to maintain staffing levels at this time of unprecedented public demand, the fee for attaining Disclosure and Barring Service clearance has been reduced to a refundable deposit only to ensure those willing and able to help in key worker roles, can, wherever possible. A crucial member of the wider front-line team, your roles purpose will be to provide a comprehensive and quality Portering service within the whole of the temporary hospital, ensuring patient care and customer service are at the forefront of your Portering service. You will be responsible for: Ensure that all Portering tasks are undertaken in a professional, competent and safe manner in line with HSE Guidelines and Safe working practices. Key holders for out of hours to support Removal of soiled laundry from Wards and theatres ensuring delivered to the Laundry in line with Infection Control Regulations and HSE Safe Working; Ensure that all equipment is in a clean and hygienic state - weekend cleaning rota for wheelchairs; Ensure that all equipment used to undertake the role are to the required standards to support safe working practices; Transportation and collection of medical gases to all department and wards regularly; Transport patients to and from X-ray when required (Out Of Hours); Support the Patient Ambassador/Service Manager or Soft Services Lead to ensure the full service is compliant with the site ISO Regulations, quality and environmental policies;Assist with maintaining appropriate records in line with service delivery Support in the provision of clean linen as and when required; Emergency transportation of patients; Ensure all HSE initiatives are managed proactively to ensure a safe working environment; Escalate all and any risks to the Patient Ambassador and/or Service Manager; Undertake any other tasks/duties as identified by the Patient Ambassador, Service Manager or Soft Services Lead Essential skills: This is a physical role and the post-holder will be required to be mobile for the majority of their working day with manual handling being necessary to lift / carry / operate cleaning machinery. Basic awareness of Health & Safety working practices. Previous experience working within a customer service environment wether in person or over the phone. Understand the importance of patient care, infection control and safety. Basic IT literate is desirable.
