Job Description

Role:

  • Manage and maintain the security of information and data.
  • To be responsible for the Review, Renewals and Cancellation process for all Use and Conduct authorities, Confidential Contacts and Technical Support Unit register entries connected with the Specialist Operations Team.
  • Maintain contact with the Senior Investigation Officer in relation to RIPA authorities and attend briefings to ensure all reviews are achieved.
  • Keep up to date with covert tactics, RIPA legislation changes, and Office of Surveillance Commissioner guidance changes.
  • Provide early tactical advice and support to investigating officers in order to identify and acquire intelligence to inform evidential plans and bring investigations to positive conclusions.
  • Working without supervision and by selecting appropriate data, demonstrate proficiency in reviewing data to provide lifestyle desktop intelligence.
  • To make recommendations in consultation with key stakeholders in order to inform decision making.
  • Produce written and verbal reports for disseminating results.
  • Attend search warrants, crime scenes, arrests and suspect interviews where appropriate, in order to enhance digital and communications evidence capture capability. Provide Triage through ADF and Kiosk phone downloads.
  • Gather intelligence from online open sources in order to optimise available evidence and assist investigating officers.
