Job Description

Graduate Structural EngineerSomersetRef MR50Salary up to £27,000 + Benefits Our client, a steel fabrication company, is actively seeking a graduate structural design engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. Working on a range of steel structures from commercial, nuclear, industrial, educational and healthcare buildings youwill create designs that drive its start of the art factory in Somerset.Working as a Graduate Structural Engineer you will complete;

  • Frame analysis of steel frame in the temporary state
  • Steel connection design
  • Value engineering of current steel frame designs
  • Frame design for tendering/estimating
  • Streamlining designs to suit unique demands of each project
  • Working alongside and checking work with other Engineers including Graduate Engineers
  • Liaising with all internal departments (Drawing Office, Fabrication, Erection, etc.)
  • Liaising with all members of design team (Engineer, Architect, etc.)
To be considered for this Graduate Structural Engineer role, you will need the following:
  • A level Maths
  • A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • any previous experience in Designing steel structures/connections
  • CAD experience would be beneficial
  • Experience in TEKLA being beneficial
  • Good communication will be essential with drawings
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and strategic skills
  • Good standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good computer skills
  • Works well on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Punctual and reliable
