Job Description

An esteemed education agency is currently seeking a highly motivated learning support assistant to provide invaluable assistance to a child in KS1 who has mild autism and attachment issues.As a learning support assistant, you will play a vital role in the childs educational journey, providing one-on-one support tailored to their specific needs. Your responsibilities will include:· Building a trusting and supportive relationship with the child: Your empathetic nature will be key in establishing a connection with the child, fostering a sense of security and trust.· Assisting with academic progress: You will work closely with the childs teacher to implement individualised learning strategies, helping the child thrive academically and reach their full potential· Promoting social and emotional development: By employing your patience and understanding, you will support the child in managing their emotions, developing social skills, and fostering positive relationships with their peers.· Implementing behaviour management strategies: Your resilient and determined approach will enable you to implement effective behaviour management techniques, helping the child navigate any challenges they may face.To excel in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualities:· Patience and empathy: You must possess a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by children with mild autism and attachment issues. Your patience and empathy will allow you to provide the nurturing environment the child needs to succeed.· Adaptability: The ability to adapt your teaching methods and approaches to suit the childs individual learning style is crucial for their progress. Flexibility in your approach will be highly valued.· Strong communication skills: You will work closely with the childs teacher, parents, and other professionals. Excellent communication skills will help facilitate effective collaboration and ensure the childs needs are met.This is a full-time position, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
