Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer (Renewable Energy)Weston-Super-Mare£50,000 - £60,000 DOE + Bonus (Up to 15%) + Progression to Chartership + Training + 25 days + BH + Private Medical Insurance + PensionAre you an Electrical Design Engineer looking to be a part of shaping the future of new energy infrastructureDo you want to work for a company who are passionate about contributing to the clean and reliable energy supply for the next generation and even more passionate about unleashing their employees potential supporting them through to chartershipOn offer is the opportunity to work with a specialist consultancy building carbon neutral energy networks with extensive knowledge and industry leading professionals and the ability to propose and develop power engineering solutions to meet any challenge.Our client provides a complete range of civil and electrical design and project consultancy services ensuring every last detail taken into account.Reporting to the to the Head of Design and Tendering, you will assist the Design and Tendering Departments in producing electricity network designs and tender specifications.The Role:

  • Design of substations and underground cable circuits for network connections up to 132kV under the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS).
  • Produce general arrangement drawings, cable routing drawings and cross-section drawings to aid the production of tenders and to obtain supplier and sub-contractor pricing.
  • Prepare HV and LV equipment specifications. Produce required calculations.
  • Assess client identified development sites and utilise desktop tools to identify any clear obstacles, engineering difficulties, and obstructions along proposed cable routes.

The Person:
  • HNC/HND/BEng with electrical engineering modules
  • Industry Experience as an Electrical Engineer/Experience with Electrical Test Systems
