Job Description

Why not join us as an Apprentice - Support WorkerThis is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week, all year round. As an Apprentice, your role will be fixed-term for 18 months, whilst you work to gain your Level 3 Apprenticeship in Teaching and Support (Teaching Assistant Advanced).Day to day responsibilites of the role

  • Provide individualised practical and/or personal care support to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities on programmes across the curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
  • Adopt an innovative and creative approach to the support you provide learners with SEND and employ strategies to empower and promote independent learning.
  • Support the learners on a 1:1 or small group basis within classroom, community or workshop environments under the direction of the specialist staff within the SEND department.
  • Seek and receive advice and support from SEND Specialist Practitioners and external professionals as appropriate.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Level 2 qualification in SEND and willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate in emotionally challenging situations
