Job Description

Through the expertise of our people, we are able to successfully deliver projects ranging from Brownfield infill developments & high density urban developments to large scale developments where we are lead developers ranging in size from 20 no units to 1500 no units.Reporting to the Technical Manager the Senior Architectural Technicians role is to produce high quality technical information to support the business at all stages. This would include appraisal info. for land bids, production info. to allow sites to start on time and to support sites in achieving unit completions to the desired high quality. They may liaise in one certain area of technical expertise and will work closely with the Architectural Technicians to ensure they are mentored in these key areas. They may, at any one time have Architectural Technicians working with them on a project. They are to take the lead in the Development Team to project manage their developments and will liaise with statutory authorities and consultants to produce the required information.Accountabilities

  • Produce Viability layouts that are in line with Planning Guidance and meets Divisional density targets
  • Achieve Planning and Building Warrant approvals in line with Development Programmes
  • Produce production information to allow sites to start on time and on budget
  • Project Architectural Technician for live sites, ensuring consistent high quality of information throughout the construction stage
  • Complies with all Health & Safety obligations as Designer
  • Achieves target dates for all relevant stages of the development programmes
  • Liaise with external Consultants and co-ordinates their work to achieve any of the above that may be relevant
  • Mentors the Architectural Technicians on certain projects or in certain areas of expertise
  • Assists the Technical Manager in the managing of the day to day workload of the Architectural Technician
  • Essential Technical Expertise
  • The individual should be a qualified Architectural Technologist with a good understanding of construction techniques/details and the statutory process to achieve a site start
  • Experience in residential development is preferable, however not a pre-requisite
  • The individual should be well organised and able to make decisions to allow projects to progress
  • They must be a team player and flexible in who they work with and what type/stage of project they are involved in
  • Must be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Word
