Job Description

I am working in partnership with a Chemical Manufacturer who supplies raw materials globally. They deliver individually specified product solutions backed by wide-ranging technical and industry expertise.The Technical Service Chemist is required to provide technical support to customers and internal departments. Communicating with customers to resolve technical issues and developing collaborative technical relationships with the customers.The Role:

  • Assess the technical capability of the company’s products in customer formulations and research projects. Actively participate in client’s development projects programmes.
  • Communicating with customers to resolve technical issues and developing collaborative technical relationships with the customer base.
  • Be the technical expert to assist the internal Marketing and Sales Departments in their sales and business development efforts.
  • Accompanying the sales team on customer visits and providing a technical consultation service for assigned markets.
  • Coordinating technical support enquiries and coordinating responses from the technical support team.
  • Be the voice of the customer within the company, understanding the customers wants and articulating this to the R&D team to support them in development projects.
  • International travel will be required as part of the role for trade shows, technical conferences, and customer visits.
    • The Candidate:
  • Educated to degree level in Chemistry / Science / Materials or related field.
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields of UV coating, UV graphic arts, adhesives, Composites, 3D printing or electronics would be of interest.
  • Knowledge of acrylate resins, photoinitiators, cationic resins and additives would be desirable.
  • Industrial or academic experience is welcome.
