Programmes and Development Manager Leeds City Council SALARY PO3 £36,370 to £39,570HOURS 37CONTRACT TYPE PermanentCLOSES Monday 28 March 2022JOB REF req11957Adel Beck is a 24 bedded Secure Childrens Home licensed by the Department for Education (DfE)on behalf of the Secretary of State, inspected by the Office for Education, Childrens Services and Skills (Ofsted), managed by Leeds City Council, Childrens Services and monitored by the Youth Custody Service (England).We provide on-site Care, Education,Offending and Behaviour Interventions, Personal Development and Health services (inc. CAMHS) to 24 young people (male and female) aged between 10 - 18 who have been remanded or sentenced by a court or whose behaviour cannot be managed in any other form ofaccommodation.Our vision is to inspire change and development in Attitude, Behaviour, Learning and Emotions that enable young people to deliver positive contributions to their families, society and their local communities whilst reducing offending and resultingin the decrease in the victims of youth crime. OfSTED have judged Adel Beck to be OUTSTANDING.Our Programmes and Development Team assist and advise Care and Education staff in the delivery of a range of Interventions based on restorative approaches, "whatworks" principles and trauma aware and psychologically informed practice based on PACE and DDP. We are further supported by our multidisciplinary health team that delivers primary care and mental health services.Programmes and Development ManagerIf you haveproven positive leadership and management experiences, can inspire staff to deliver high quality psychological informed practice to assist in the development of young people supported by the ability to develop staff to ensure that young people receive thehighest standard of service, then this may be the position for you.The successful candidate will have high levels of emotional intelligence, self-awareness and psychological resilience that will enable you to cope with difficult and challenging situationsand be able to respond and manage young people with complex behavioural and criminogenic profiles.Applicants for this position should be able to evidence the following:1. Be able to positively contribute to the development of Adel Beck as a member of the StrategicLeadership Team (SLT)2. Be a confident, professional, and inspiring leader.3. Work closely with external local, regional and national organisations when leading on new initiatives.4. Provide guidance and support to other parts of childrens services in relationto interventions and workforce development.5. Able to evidence a solution and analytical focused approach to the management and challenge of complex behaviours and presentations.6. Have a clear and robust understanding of the criminal justice system and processesrelating to under 18s.7. Significant experience in the delivery and practice of a trauma informed and psychologically based model of care or intervention with young people.8. Hold a NVQ/QCF, Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) Level 3 or equivalentaward.9. Have gained a relevant social work, youth justice, youth work or related equivalent qualification (desirable not essential).10. Be committed to working towards the QCF Verifier Award (or be able to complete within 12 months of appointment.)11. Undertakethe QCF level 5 or equivalent in management within 18 months of appointment.12.
