Job Description

Pastoral Support WorkerLocation: KirkleesMonday - Friday (8:30am -3:30pm)Veritas Education have an exciting opportunity for a pastoral support worker in a specialist school based in Kirklees! The ideal candidate will have previous experience and knowledge to support children with their learning, behaviour and wellbeing.You will also need to be familiar and confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

  • Throughout this role as a pastoral support worker, you will be required to support pupils on a 1-1 basis and in a group setting with their learning and well-being
  • You will be required to support pupils with their behaviour by using de-escalation strategies and be confident with behaviour management
  • You will also support and assist their social and emotional and behavioural needs throughout the school day.
Requirements:
  • Previous support worker or care worker experience in an educational or care setting is essential
  • Relevant training and certificates such as Team Teach is desirable, although training can be offered by Veritas
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK
