Job Description

We are recruiting for a fantastic new opportunity for a Modelling Manager to join a Large Financial Services business with exciting growth plans.Reporting into an outstanding Head of finance, your primary responsibility will ne to design, build, and management of finance models. You will have a team of 1, and opporutunity to work your way around the business and to grow and develop.Duties

  • Lead and deliver the development, maintenance, and monitoring of a suite of models and proactively seek ways to improve models, simplify processes and create efficiencies.
  • Use strong communication skills to influence and gain consensus for modelling proposals andproactively manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop IFRS9 segmentation, model validation, internal controls and model monitoring.
  • Work with the Impairment, credit risk and other finance teams to maintain and enhance reporting, monitoring, governance, and robust procedural documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as required and provide recommendations and solutions based on analysis.
  • Commit to learning and to developing others and act as a mentor to junior colleagues providing specialist training, advice, challenge, and support.
  • Engage and drive forward critical initiatives that improve our technical capability and promote innovative ways of working.
  • Assisting in the delivery of projects and development activities within the business as required.
  • Promote the Groups values and behaviours.
  • Adhere to the FCA Conduct rules
The ideal candidate will ahve experience of
  • Working with similar models - ideally PD, EAD, LGD and cash flow models.
  • Relevant models would be Basel II/III models: regulatory capital calculations and impairment models
  • Experience working with large data sets using SQL.
  • Technical experience in building such models.
  • Moderate to advanced Base SAS and SAS Macro Programming capability.
  • Moderate to advanced Excel and experience across the MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Experience in quantitative analysis.
  • Statistical/ Mathematical/Economics background highly regarded.
  • Experience working with a consumer credit / lending portfolio or in the non-standard market highly regarded
