Job Description

WINNER are currently supporting an well established Lift company with the recruitment of theirLift Service Engineer this role will be based over North/West Yorkshire.As aLift Service Engineeryou would be carrying out maintenance and service repairs on lifts, adhering to Health & Safety/ Quality Regulations, providing a high level of service.The duties of theLift Service Engineerwill be:

  • Carry out maintenance, service and repair work, within agreed time scales, to good standards.
  • Without any call backs within 7 days of service visit.
  • Cleaning forms part of service, maintain cleaning equipment stock within your vehicle.
  • Time-sheets for hours worked to be completed fully and correctly.
  • Work sheets to be completed fully & correctly.
  • Maintain a daily diary, for time worked, scheduling and material requirements.
  • Request and administer materials in time for there requirement.
  • Maintain and keep a listing of all (stock) service parts within your vehicle.
  • Retain all paper work issued by the company, maintain your own technical library.
  • Company equipment to be maintained in good serviceable order at all times.
  • Carry out regular inspection routines & report on findings.
  • Be prepared to work in difficult conditions and unsociable hours. Be prepared to carry out installation or refurbishment works.
  • Incidents to be reported during the same day & reports completed within 7 days.
  • Protective equipment/clothing must be worn, used, stored and adjusted correctly.
The idealLift Service Engineerwill have:
  • Minimum age 25 with 6 years experience in service engineering environment.
  • Posses the maturity and confidence necessary to communicate with clients and their agents on site. Have a pleasant manner.
  • Dress in accordance with the company dress code for service engineers portraying the correct image and instilling confidence in clients. Clean jeans and polo shirt are suitable dress at interview.
  • Possess a formal electrical qualification to ONC/NVQ3 level or similar. Demonstrate a desire to continue training and development.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to address faults/problems logically and methodically.
  • Able to work unsupervised and under pressure from clients.
  • Although generally working alone be a team player having a willingness to assist others in the team and contribute a fair share to the team effort.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to complete a task regardless of time.
  • A service engineer can not clock off at a predetermined time if the repair is not completed.
  • Ability to learn new equipment quickly by applying basic principles and knowledge.
The salary for theLift Service Engineer is circa £35,000 - £38,000 per annum. This is excluding on call rate and overtime rate. The working hours out be 45 hours per week. On call 1 in 9 days.
