Job Description

Our client, based in West Yorkshire, is currently recruiting for a IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate) on a Fixed Term Contract for 1 year.The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis for 35 hours. The salary for this role is £25,339.00The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Responsible for supporting a case load of 10 females who are victims of domestic violence
  • Take witness statements and assist client in completing paperwork for court
  • Create tailored support plans for clients and develop a group work programme to help women enable positive choices
  • Provide both emotional and physical support to individuals
  • Liaise with external providers on behalf of clients, including those in relation to the criminal justice system
  • Carry out regular risk assessments and ensure safe guarding practices are embedded within work practices
  • Attend and lead the drop in and outreach services on a regular basis
  • Build rapport and maintain a trusting relationship with a caseload
  • Work to reduce discrimination, exclusion, stigma for sex workers for individuals and in the wider community
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Access to a car
  • Experience of working with female victims of domestic violence
  • Working hours:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
