Job Description

Your role is to establish, manage and monitor the health, safety and environmental standards, processes, communications, training and systems. In addition, you will offer expert knowledge and skills in order to generate and promote a positive health andsafety cultureClient DetailsMy client is a market leading manufacturer of specialist precision products. They have a strong customer base and a great heritage. They are looking to improve their systems, processes and culture across Health, Safety and Environment.Description

  • Manage and implement suitable and relevant Health Safety and Environmental polices and procedures.
  • Management of Internal and External site facilities
  • Continued accreditation to ISO 14001 and ISO45001
  • Perform legal compliance audits
  • Ensure a safe workplace without risk to health
  • Manage and maintain effective Risk Assessments
  • Ensure a safe plant and machinery, safe movements and storage and the safe use of articles and substances relevant to the processes involved
  • Leading the safety reps and ensuring that they are properly trained and qualified
  • Provision of suitable and current information to all members of staff concerning HS&E legislation, policies, and practises.
  • Proper and timely assessment of health and safety and the implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from any such assessments.
  • Provision of emergency procedures, ensuring adequate provision for first aid and fire prevention
  • The reporting and monitoring of incidents/accidents and communication to the relevant authorities.
  • Liaison with outside organisations and authorities.
  • Ensuring that the workplace meets all relevant safety and welfare requirements.
  • Ensure adequate precautions or control against, exposure to hazardous substances, dangers from flammable or explosive atmospheres, protection from noise, electricity, radiation, manual handling and other risks.
  • Surveillance and reporting on HS&E practises and the systems surrounding them.
  • Manage the maintenance through contractors of the facilities / building such as cleaner, roofs repairs, plumbers etc
  • Reporting on: Emissions and other testing; Occupational health monitoring; Accident, incidence and near miss rates; Insurance claims; Waste and Energy consumption and Changes to legal compliance that affect the organisation
ProfileTo be successful in your application, you will ideally have the following:
  • NEBOSH certificate or Diploma
  • Internal auditing experience
  • A proven track record of leading Health, Safety and Environment within an engineering or manufacturing company
  • A good understanding of ISO 14001 and 45001 is essential
