Dept of Childrens ServicesChildrens Social CareBradford South : Duty & AssessmentExperienced Social Worker (level 3)Salary : PO3: £35,745 - £38,890 paHouse : 37 hrs per week Based : Bradford City Centre, Sir Henry Mitchell HousePermanentAt Bradford MBCour Childrens Services is on an improvement journey and we are currently looking for highly experienced and dedicated Level 3 Social Workers to join our Duty and Assessment teams for Bradford South. About usWe now have a strong senior leadership team witha clear vision who are driving positive change to ensure that the children of the Bradford district receive a high quality service. At the request of our Social Workers and to support us in our quest to improve we have redesigned how we deliver our ChildrensSocial Care Services and have established new Duty and Assessment teams, Child and Family teams and Children in Care teams. Our teams are headed by a Team Manager and supported by a dedicated none case holding Practice Supervisor and Court Consultant. We understandthat Social Work is not easy and that the challenges you face daily are difficult and emotional which is why we guarantee to ensure caseloads remain manageable in both number and complexity. In the South we operate an open door policy and we are committedto providing monthly Reflective supervision as well as fortnightly group sessions. About the roleAs a Level 3 Social Worker within this service,you will complete Family Assessments and work with the child and family to agree a plan. Our fast paced Duty and Assessment teams will work on a one week on, two weeks off rota system and receive allocations directly from our Integrated Front Door.The transitionpoints from this service are:1. Step down to Early Help Services3 Step to Child and Family Service and the Children in care TeamThe Bradford South team is based at Sir Henry Mitchell House, just a short walk away from the buzz of our multi-culturalcity, which showcases wonderful architecture, an array of fantastic eateries and independent shops. The districtBradford is a city which offers a richness of culture and diversity; it is the fourth largest Metropolitan District in the country and home to apopulation of 534,300 residents. Bradford has the largest percentage of population under the age of 16 outside London; over 30% of the population is under the age of 20. With these statistics in mind you will develop your understanding of different culturesand learn how being culturally competent can enhance your relationships with children and their families and ultimately produce more positive outcomes. A Social Worker who is multilingual could see joining Bradford as a way to enhance their translation skillsand in turn develop long lasting and trusting relationships with the families they support.Bradford and its surrounding areas has a great deal to offer. Housing is affordable and there are many desirable residential neighbourhoods within a reasonable commuteof the city. As you would expect from any city, rail links are excellent, frequent and fast. Leeds is 20 minutes away, whilst Manchester is an hour. Bradford is on the Airedale Line which connects the city with the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire andthe lovely market town of Skipton which is also the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
