Job Description

ERP Solutions Architect - OUTSIDE IR35A public sector organisation has approached Venn Group to secure an ERP Solutions Architect to assist with a critical business system project.ResponsibilitiesThe end client is undertaking a large Core Business Transformation programme (CBT) which is seeking to bring about fundamental changes in the way Finance, Procurement, HR and Payroll activities are undertaken.The main systems that are to be replaced comprise of an internally developed “Oracle Forms” based finance management system, a SAP implementation for Payroll and some elements of employee self-service, plus a cloud based solution for learning and development and e-recruitment. A complex configuration of interfaces exist between these systems and other line of business systems which will need to be reviewed and where appropriate replicated in any new solution.Responsible for delivering a number of key outcomes which include

  • Supporting supplier dialogue in order to shape supplier’s solutions to meet the requirements of the end client
  • Supporting the evaluation of potential ERP suppliers and their solutions
  • Supporting the implementation of an ERP solution
  • Leading ERP solution design (ensuring no customisation)
  • Leading development and implementation of a data migration and archiving strategy
  • Leading development and implementation of a systems interface strategy
  • Identifying relevant opportunities for innovation and change
  • Providing challenge to the business and suppliers where appropriate
  • Working with a wide range of senior stakeholders
  • Leading design and implementation assurance activities in line with external assurance as required
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Designing and Establishing ERP models
  • Experience of Enterprise Level Architecture including
  • EA methodologies and Tools i.e. TOGAF, Archimate, UML models, strategies, reference architectures,
  • Architecture visioning incl. financial modelling, technical frameworks and roadmaps
  • Familiarity with business and technology strategy frameworks and techniques
  • Information architecture
  • Interpret, use and apply to inform a range of business improvement activities particularly those involved in definition, design, development, enhancement and maintenance of ERP Systems
  • Business skills / methods
  • Business knowledge and context, Business strategies and goals , business process modelling, business capability mapping and planning and relationship management
  • Technical skills
  • ERP Systems architecture and design,
  • Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Software development,
  • Application architecture and integration patterns
  • Data exchange and management (including API management)
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance standards
  • Experience of a broad range of enterprise platform technologies
  • Experience of Digital, web and service based architecture
  • SOA / MVP / MVC, Cloud models (IaaS, SaaS and PaaS)
