Job Description

Customs Team LeaderLocationSutton Coldfield/HerefordWe are recruiting for a Customs Team Leader to join a specialist manufacturing business based in the Birmingham area where you will lead the Procedures team and manage the overall customs workload whilst also maintaining internal and external compliance.Candidates with Team Lead experience within Import and Export customs or working within Manufacturing environments would be well received.As the Customs Team Leader, you will be required to:

  • Lead a small team of Customs procedure Coordinators
  • Allocate and monitor workload
  • Operate Import and Export clearance
  • Prepare special customs documents and implement customs procedures
  • Involvement in Customs and foreign trade audits
  • Archive customs documents
  • Prepare monthly customs declarations
  • Shipment tracking and import returns processing
  • Responsibility for Customs related cost management and cost improvement
  • Troubleshooting customs related issues
Candidates should have the following skills or experience:
  • Experience in the field of customs/foreign trade
  • A good knowledge of import and export processing and Customs procedures
  • Experience as a Team Lead or Senior Team member
  • A knowledge of SAP, SAP-GTS would be an advantage
  • Influencing skills
  • Confident in use of MS Office
  • Experience in project work
  • Confident in using MS Office
  • Excellent spoken and English skills
