The Company:A thriving British pet trade supplier with a national field sales team that works with pet stores and garden centres throughout the UK. Their extensive and well-priced range is supported by exceptional customer service and they are winning new business atindependent and group level every day.The Role of Territory Account Manager:Home based, the new Area Sales Manager will cover an area including Birmingham, Stoke on Trent, Worcester, Gloucester, Oxford, Coventry, Leicester and Derby. Responsibilities will include:
  • Work with the National Sales Manager to assess the performance of your area and agree a strategy for sales growth.
  • Meet with each customer to better understand their needs and develop joint business plans that work.
  • Negotiate trading terms on an individual basis, considering volume and margin.
  • Invest your time well, delegating lower value customers to the office based customer service team.
  • Identifying potential new stockists and make appointments to better understand their needs.
  • Planning every customer meeting in order to achieve objectives.
The person for this Area Sales Manager opportunity:We are looking for a high calibre Sales Representative from a pet or garden trade supplier and a proven track record of account management and new business wins. Specific qualities will include:
  • A home location in Staffordshire, West Midlands, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire or Leicestershire.
  • A proven ability to deal with independent retailers in the pet or garden market.
  • Skilled at fact finding, questioning and verbal clarity.
  • Strong negotiation and objection handling skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to build strong working relationships.
