Job Description

Our client is a leader in fully automated parking management systems. They have a global market presence and their innovative systems provide their customers with a competitive advantage.They are expanding and now have a newly created opportunity for an IT Field Service Engineer, to provide technical support / solutions / troubleshooting on their networked systems.THE ROLE

  • Supporting a range of parking technology - cloud / networked electro-mechanical systems.
  • Carry out technical upgrades and site surveys and provide telephone technical support for internal and external customers.
  • Commission car parking equipment such as barriers, terminals, pay stations, ANPR, intercom and network equipment.
  • Install and update parking management software, changing, programming and testing new tariffs & performing configuration changes.
  • Organise and undertake staff and customer training and deal with all associated administration.
THE INDIVIDUAL
  • You will have experience working on networked / IT systems, able to support Microsoft Windows and Server operating systems, including but not limited to system troubleshooting, driver installation, network configuration, local/group policy management, newsystem installations.
  • Basic knowledge of MSSQL with the ability to construct simple queries.
  • Linux experience, ideally gained from supporting Linux running on embedded devices.
  • You could perhaps come from the Security Systems - CCTV, Access Control, Alarm or Transportation / Mass Transit - Revenue Collection / Ticketing or ATM, Biometrics or Gaming / Leisure sectors. The ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) sector, Car Parking/ On-Street / Off Street / Pay-on-Foot / Traffic sector, or perhaps a systems integration organisation or capital equipment manufacturer or a technical company who deliver project solutions to the public sector for e.g. NHS, Police, Local Authorities or Retailsectors.
  • Alternatively, you may have worked on capital equipment in the Vending, Weighing systems, Security Systems, Gating, Access Control, EPOS, ATM, Gaming / Leisure, Office Equipment or PC sectors.
  • You should be qualified in an IT / Computer Studies discipline.
  • Microsoft MCP or Cisco CCNA qualifications would be advantageous.
