Job Description

OD & Learning Business Partner Locations: CoventrySalary:£50,000 - £52,000 + BenefitsContract: 12-month FTCLatham & Bond HR is currently recruiting for an OD & learning Business Partner for a forward-thinking education authority in the Midlands.If you have a strong background in leadership & management development and want to be part of a truly collaborative and strategic team then this could be the right role for you!OD & Learning Business Partner responsibilities: To drive the implementation of the People & OD, Talent and Learning Strategy by leading on the delivery of organisational development initiatives and interventions working closely with the People Partnering team, Directors, senior managers and key stakeholders to support and implement organisational change and new ways of working and ensure that the skills and capacity of the workforce meet current and emerging organisational needs.This is a key role with significant relationship and stakeholder management requirements and requires OD subject matter expertise and accountability for end-to-end definition, design, development, deployment and embedding of OD interventions, programmes, frameworks and initiatives for one or more of: talent and succession planning; organisation change/culture and equality, diversity & inclusion; digital and core learning; leadership and management development; apprenticeships, graduate and traineeships - qualifications-based development.

  • Take a strategic and proactive focus to lead, scope, develop and deliver holistic, high-impact organisational development interventions within defined business areas.
  • Analyse and identify current and future requirements of workforce knowledge, skills and experience to aid workforce planning to achieve organisational strategic objectives.
  • Be a trusted partner to senior leaders and managers within business areas and develop relationships based on trust, integrity and co-operation.
  • Develop and maintain a network of relationships with the People Partnering team and business partnering areas to keep informed and up to date on business developments and enable immediate engagement when action or support is needed.
  • Drive cultural changes through a variety of different methods, enabling managers to more effectively line manage their staff and enhance their people management skills.
  • Act as a coach and mentor in the development of staff and team capabilities and competencies to promote change, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Apply and embed fairness and equality in both the delivery and offer of all services, to ensure that all staff and customers are treated fairly, to meet an individual’s personal circumstances.
  • Work interdependently and collaboratively with OD & Learning Business Partner colleagues and People partnering team to gather their subject matter expertise and input to ensure initiatives are holistic, integrated and co-ordinated to support the achievement of organisational business goals.
  • Leadership & Management:
  • Develop a global leadership and management development proposition and approach, clearly aligned to the organisational vision, values and talent planning processes to develop aspiring, current and future leaders who are innovative, have intercultural competence and a passion for driving excellence.
  • Consult and collaborate with OD & Learning Business Partners and People Partners to understand business area leadership challenges and to inform delivery of the best possible solutions and outcomes and a clear return on investment.
  • Ensure leadership and management programmes are focused on diversity and are aligned to succession planning needs and to understand the links to Graduate and Qualification led programmes for leadership and management.
  • Responsible for end-to-end management and delivery from needs analysis, content/curriculum design, programme management to delivery and facilitation of interventions.
  • Experience & Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • CIPD or organisational development postgraduate level qualification.
  • Significant experience within an OD/HR/L&D role working in the field of organisation development and learning.
  • Substantial experience of creating and delivering a range of organisational development and learning interventions with proven business benefits.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OD and learning processes and interventions which embed culture change, behaviours and values, and achieve employee engagement.
  • Effective stakeholder management in a complex organisational structure/matrix environment.
  • Proven experience of facilitating and influencing strategy at a senior level.
  • Experience in identifying skills gaps and developing learning solutions.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build a strong business relationship with senior managers, understanding business requirements and identifying appropriate solutions.
