Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing and Product Director to join a Midlands based Business.Client DetailsA Company with a Global presence in 45 plus and specialises in selling Business solutions across the UK.The RoleIf you have proven experience of leading a Pricing, Category or Product division at Director level previously, then this could be the ideal role for you.Reporting directly to a Managing Director, you will be responsible for defining, leading, implementing and monitoring the regions Commercial strategy in relation to profit generation. This will be done via the management, control and reporting of all cost related matters to ensure the regions business plan and future growth requirements are met.Key Duties and RequirementsThe main purpose of the role is to formulate, implement and drive a consistent approach towards procurement policies and system strategies to support tendering, contracts management, spend analytics and supplier performance management. To develop and implement a strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings.Joining the team as a Director, you will also be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to the regional Commercial department, ensuring the effective management compliance and control of the function.
  • Defining and embedding the regional Commercial strategy to ensure the smooth delivery of the regional business plan.
  • Pricing, ensuring that build costs, cash flows and budgeting information is effectively managed and reported as per company guidelines.
  • Overseeing the working partnerships with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure that all contractual terms are met.
  • Relationship Management, Ensuring the Commercial department is fully engaged in the process of determining and agreeing development start programmes and timescales.
  • Category Management, identify spend categories and internal stakeholders responsible for those categories
  • Ensuring the department maintains and achieves its payment and reporting requirements.
  • Authorising and committing expenditure on behalf of the region.
  • Providing key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the Commercial function
    • You will also have;
  • A minimum of 2 years senior management experience within Commercial management for a new homes developer.
  • Departmental planning and strategy experience.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • The ability to showcase inspirational leadership skills and the mentoring of team members.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level (preferably Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Degree)
  • A Fellow or Member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
  • MA in relevant commercial discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification
