Job Description

Laminator OperativePermanent contractLocation: Can be based anywhere in England, as long as willing to travel across the UK.Salary from £30,000 - £40,000 + van + PPE + overtime + benefits + extensive trainingHPRtalent is currently working with a national environmental consultancy that supports organisations with keeping their fuel tanks clean, safe and operating at optimum capacity. The Laminator Operative is part of an expanding team, who is proactive, andhands-on and supports the maintenance and thorough upkeep of fuel tanks. The role of the Laminator Operative involves working within confined spaces across large industrial fuel tanks. We are seeking candidates who are experienced with the use and manipulationof fibreglass when lining large industrial tanks, or from other industries.If you are interested in the role but do not currently have the skills, please apply! Our client is seeking candidates who are interested in receiving training and taking on a new career path.Once successful within the role, you will be issued with a company vehicle to travel across the UK as part of a small team. Core hours are 8am - 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for travelling to and from customer sites. You will be requiredto stay away from home up to 4 nights a week and work every 1 in 4 weekends. All expenses will be paid for during your time away.The Role:

  • Attending client sites across the UK with your team, this role will require candidates to work away from home for the majority of the working week and work 1 in 4 weekends
  • When reporting to site, you will receive full briefings to enable you to complete thorough and high-quality work
  • Whilst wearing full PPE, you will enter confined spaces through a 22 inch entrance and use high-powered jet washers to clean the tanks
  • Supporting the maintenance of tanks, which will include sandblasting, priming and re-lining of the tanks, using chemicals and fibreglass.
  • Using materials sourced from the main depot, you will be measuring, cutting and installing materials to aid with any repairs to leaks or damages
  • Work with your crew mates to keep the vehicles, PPE, and equipment clean, repaired, and in good working order
  • You will be required to sign off RAMS documentation and submit these within a timely manner
  • Should any risks or concerns arise, you will be required to highlight these to senior management
The Person:
  • Full and clean driving license, comfortable operating company vehicles.
  • Comfortable wearing breathing apparatus and working within confined spaces
  • Physically fit and active due to health and safety requirements, employees must weigh below 150kg (23½ stones)
  • Relevant experience in a similar industry (e.g., laminator, composite, boat making, forecourt services, drainage, utilities, armed forces)
  • A proven track record of following processes, you will work rigorously to health and safety standards
  • Previous experience using and manipulating fiberglass.
  • Previous use of high-power jet washing, certification from WJA would be advantageous
  • Ability to work away from home during the week and 1 in 4 weekends.
  • Numerically minded, comfortable with percentages.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standard of work.
  • Eagerness to develop and progress, open to on-the-job and formal classroom training.
  • Previous track record of getting hands dirty in a commercial/industrial environment.
  • Ability to work well in a close-knit team and independently.
  • Deliver excellent customer service through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Right to work in the UK. Please note sponsorship is not available for this role.
