Job Description

My client is seeking an experienced IT Specialist to be based at a new facility in Coventry.Working with the existing IT Team the chosen candidate is expected to play a major role in supporting IT functions across the whole of the UK.Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the customer community and all IT Systems deployed at the primary location
  • Working with the other members of the IT team to provide seamless and consistent IT support across other locations Essex / Midlands (Coventry)
  • Managing and maintaining the following:
  • Windows clients and servers (physical and virtual)
  • Client and server software
  • Data security technologies, bit locker, Authentication Token etc
  • Network switches, and interconnections
  • Printer- scanners, with "follow me" technology
  • Access control & CCTV
  • Automotive test, control and data acquisition products (eg PUMA)
  • Test Bed Devices and machines (INCA / CAMEO / INDICOM etc)
  • Test Bed CCTV Services
  • Test Bed Network Infrastructure and SCADA devices
  • Management of the SANTORIN Host and SQL Database
  • Test Bed production Environment
  • ITIL best practice and agreed systems of work
  • Observing and promoting information security protocols
  • Ensuring we exceed service level targets and meet deadlines
  • Providing support resources and guidance to the customer community
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, colleagues, peers and stakeholders
  • Documentation and retention of all the processes and procedures for given tasks/projects
  • Documenting and taking ownership of the processs procedures and user guides
  • Communicating effectively in a professional and timely manner
  • Undertaking proactive work as identified by oneself and others
  • Supporting and contributing to projects as required
  • Actively supporting continuous improvement
  • Maintaining a professional working environment, keeping all areas of IT responsibility tidy
  • Provide continuous feedback and updates on IT related issues to the Head of IT and the rest of the team
  • Any other IT duties as required
  • Key Skills:

  • Knowledge in managing file/folder access rights, security groups, distribution groups, security groups using Microsoft Identity Manger tool
  • Understanding and working knowledge of network devices and VLANs
  • Understanding of ITIL Foundation
  • Knowledge of Windows servers and client operating systems
  • Understanding of VPN/CITRIX and remote access technologies
  • Familiarity with a Quality Management System (QMS) environment
  • Previous knowledge for managing client hardware lifecycle from procurement to disposal
  • UK/EU Driving license
  • Ability and willingness to travel to other sites when necessary, including (occasionally), overseas
  • Desirable:
  • Experience of working with vehicle test and development technologies
  • Experience of working with remote IT support teams or international IT support teams
  • Experience of working within an ISO27001 / ISO9001 environment
  • Experience in Project Management or equivalent experience within an IT environment
  • Working knowledge in Test Bed environment supporting test bed devices
  • Working Knowledge and experience with PUMA/INCA/INDICOM/CAMEO setup and configuration on test bed network
  • Proven record of working with SANTORIN host and TFMS host in production environment
  • Understanding of UUT in the production environment
