We have an outstanding opportunity for a Retail Buyer or Category Manager to manage the customer offer for the fresh and chilled food range with this leading West Midlands based retailer. The company have seen an unprecedented period of expansion and have ambitious plans to continue to grow their market-share.About the role:Based at their modern and vibrant offices, you will have primary accountability for maximising sales, margin and profitability in this fast moving and diverse category. You will work as part of a cross-functional team, building long term supplier relationships to deliver an innovate product offer. With ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the category strategy and ensuring that the business meets with customer needs, you will also play a lead role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions and pricing.About the personTo be considered for the position, you need will need to have experience of Fresh Food Buying / Trading / Category Management in a Retail or Wholesale environment where you will have developed an excellent understanding of the consumer and of the marketplace. Your experience could include Fresh Produce, Protein, Dairy, Chilled or even Food to Go. But what is essential is that you will be a true self-starter with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment, where you will have developed first rate strategic and analytical thinking skills.
