The successful candidate will be passionate about education and have a proven track record ofdelivering excellent teaching in a Year 1 setting. It is easily accessible by public transport and seeking to appoint a qualified Primary teacher from October 2023. The school has a Good Ofsted rating. The school is happy toconsider applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs. The school has a supportive culture and is an excellent place for both students and staff members.Responsibilities of a Year 1 teacher:

  • As a Year 1 teacher you will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their first steps in Key Stage 1, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.
  • Teaching the Key Stage 1 curriculum to groups of children while also focusing on each individual childs learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses
  • Further developing maths ability and introducing fractions, statistics, and geometry
  • Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
  • Keeping track of childrens progress and occasionally reporting back to parents
  • Create a positive learning environment that is both safe and conducive for learning
  • Collaborate with school management, teaching staff and parents to provide quality academic support for Year 1 students
Year 1 Teacher requirements:
  • Bachelors degree or above in Education, or related field.
  • Teaching qualification and QTS.
  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching Year 1 students.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Passion for working with children and a commitment to providing high-quality education.
  • Ability to create and present engaging and interactive lesson plans.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and school staff.
