Job DescriptionThis leading client are currently looking for a test manager to join a dynamic, highly motivated technology team. You will be managing a team of up to 15 engineers and you will be experienced in all areas of developing people and their skillsYour primary role will be to lead team in the on-going testing of data applications, data pipelines and processes.- Definition and maintenance of the Test Strategy- Effective management of the Data Engineering Test team, including Personal development plans, manging HR issues, hiring, managing performance- Definition of the High-Level Test Approach for Programmes/Projects, including advising on the test phases needed to support the Programme/Project- Manage and track throughput of work and quality, monitoring progress and providing feedback- Identify, document and manage all significant Programme/Project Risks and Issues regarding Testing- Supporting and deputising for the Senior Data Engineering manager when required- Contribute to and drive best practice data engineering and testing standards- Growing and supporting our talent and succession plansYou’ll have:- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing, methodologies, tools and processes.- Adaptable to change, open to new ideas, and the ability to take on new responsibilities- Experience of managing teams working on multiple projects- Experience with implementing and configuring a variety of leading testing tools and understanding how best to exploit them- Extensive experience of defining and implementing waterfall, agile and hybrid/custom testing approaches- Passion for and proven history of leading technology professionals- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Understanding of Data Warehousing/ ETL best practice and principles- Not essential, but would be a huge benefit if you have cloud experience, preferably GCP as they are migrating some very large data warehouses into the cloud
