Job Description

Senior Static Equipment EngineerLocation: PaddingtonJob Family: EngineeringJohnson Matthey are recruiting for a for an experienced and highly motivated individual to work as a Senior Static Equipment Engineer for our site based in Paddington.You will be exposed to unique, diverse and often complex equipment that is at the forefront of current technology.Responsibilities:

  • Management of Static Equipment input into individual projects ensuring deliverables are produced within manhour budgets and schedule constraints.
  • Mechanical design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
  • Production of drawings, engineering datasheets, specifications and requisitions.
  • Review of detailed design information and supplier documentation.
  • Periodic short term international visits to vendors, client offices and construction sites.
  • Support of other departments in the company needing help with mechanical design issues.
  • Mentoring of developing engineers.
  • Experience required:
  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline.
  • Broad range of design experience with a Process Plant and Construction company or similar.
  • Flexible team player with excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of common vessel and heat exchanger design codes, ASME, API, TEMA, PEDetc.
  • Experience of vessel and heat exchangers mechanical design.
  • Some experience of finite element design methods.
  • Member, or working towards membership, of recognised Engineering Institute
  • Experience of equipment fabrication, metallurgy and inspection
  • Knowledge of the following would be of advantage:
  • 3D modelling
  • Package engineering
  • Shell and Tube heat exchanger thermal design
  • FEA or CFD modelling
  • Able to prove eligibility to work in the UK.
